goodevening!

The word "abide" is a very old English word. In the Gospels, the word is used at least 14 times. And over the whole of Scriptures, it's present probably 100 times.
And the word means, in its old form, "stay with", "remain", "live with", "abide with me", "stay with me", "be faithful". And we understand what that kind of spirit is in a human development. If we have a good human spirit, many of the things that Jesus is talking about are present to us.
We become advocates for those who suffer. To be an advocate is to be a lawyer, to speak out on behalf of people who suffer unjustly, to take the side of sometimes what are called the losers, and to say, "No, we're not going to abandon them."
I need advocates, I need people to defend me, and other people need them, as well. So, a good human spirit is one that's courageous enoughto stand up and to take the cause.
have a goodevening!
