goodevening! from the ikigau book...
Apple cofounder Steve Jobs was a big fan of Japan. Not only did he visit the Sony factories in the 1980s and adopt mamy of their methods when he founded Apple, he was also captivated by the simplicity and qualuty of jaoanese porcelain in Kyoto.
it was not, however, an artisan from Kyoto who won Steve Job's devotion, but rather a Takamine from Toyama named Yukio Shakunaga, who used a technique called Etchi Seto-Yuki, known onky by a few.
on a visit to Kyoto, Jobs heard of an exhibition of Shakunaga's work. He immediately understood that there was sometjing special about Shakunaga's porcelain. as a matter of fact, he bought several cups, vases and plates, and went back to the show three times that week.
jobs retirned to Kyoto several times over the course of his life in search of inspiration, and ended up meeting Shakunaga in person. it is said that jobs had many questions for him- almost all of them about the fabrication process and the type of porcelain he used.
....in an interview after Job's death, Shakunaga said he was very proud that his work had been aporeciated by the man who created the iPhone.

to comnemorate this event in the family, Fatger Hieronymus asked the painter Schmidtner ti paint a picture that still today hangs in the church of Saint Peter in Perlach, Augsburg.According t9 this version of the painting's origins, the artist depicted Our Lafy as she loosened tge knots in the marriage band, and in the lower portion of the picture painted Wolfgang Lengenmantel, not Tobias, as in Bergoglio's version, beimg led by the Archangel Raphael on the path to solving his marriage crisis. however, both versions relate to the beautiful story of marriage in the Book of Tobit( Tob 8-11 ), one of the Deuterocanonical Books of the Old Testament.
10as can be seen, these versions hardly touch upon the relationship of this pucture to the text of Saint Irenaeus of Lyon. For Pope Francid, however the text of st.Orabaeus is very important. he emphasized that he did not only know the image, but rather the image with the text, and this is what inspired him the most. he was aware that the picture as such would apoeal to people, but he underlined the payristic origin as the inspiration for it.r have a goodevening
