Goodevening!
From the book,"" She is my mother""
Mary's Gift
Pope Francis referred to this generosity that is willing to endure sacrifice- a quality that is characteristic of the poor and also of Oue Lady-when he visited the ""Dono di Maria"" shelter for the homeless. It had been entrusted to Mother Teresa of Calcutta and her Missionary Sisters of Mercy by Pope John Paul II. The beautiful speech that Pope Francis gave on that occasion offers us a glimpse into his understanding of the intimate relationship between Mary and charity to one's neighbour.
In his brief speech the Pope focussed on the three words by which the shelter is named: home, gift, and Mary. A home is a,""place of hospitality."" It has a "" typically familiar flavour, which recalls warmth, affection, the love that can be felt in a family."" It represents"" the most precious human treasures, that of encounter, that of relations among people."" The house is also a gift, continued the Pope, a place where people give and receive freely, where the meaning of the gift, of gratuitousness, of solidarity"" and everything that is done out of love. The home is, therefore, a gift"" from Mary.""
The Holy Virgin made of here existence an unceasing and beautiful gift to God, because she loved the Lord. Mary's example is an incentive to those who live in this Home, and for all of us, to live in charity for our neighbour not out of some sort of social duty, but beginning from the love of God, from the charity of God... Mary is the one who leads us to Jesus and teaches us how to go to Jesus;and the Mother of Jesus is our own and makes a family, with us and with Jesus.
I would like ti dedicate this post to my parents, my brother and my sister and our daughter!
