COLDEST RECORDED TEMPERATURE
In 1983, a temperature of _89.2 degree centigrade(_128.6 degree fahrenheit) was recorded at Vostok Station in Antarctica. Modern satellite suggests the surrounding mountains experience even lower readings.
HIGHEST RECORDED TEMPERATURE
In the summer of 1913, Furnace Creek in Death Valley, California, experienced a temperature of 56.7degree centigrade (134 degree fahrenheit)- a sweltering world record.
DRIEST PLACE
It hasn't officiallyrained in 14 million years in the Mc Murdo Dry valleys of Antarctica, though some snow gets blown over from nearby hills. Almost no life can survive here without the essential ingredient of water.
WETTEST PLACE
THe north Indian village of Mawsynram receives 12m (39 ft) of rainfall per year,making it among the wettest places on the planet.

Standing 8,611 m (28. 25 Ift) above sea level. K2 is the second highest mountain in the world. It sits on the border between Pakistan and China and is extremely challenging to climb.
HIGHEST WATERFALL
Water at the Angel Falls in Venezuela experiences freefall for 979 m (3,212 ft). THis is 15 times the height of the Niagara Falla, and it takes the water about 14 seconds to reach the pool at the base.
