Rewards OF faithfulness

READ MATHEW25:14-23 The Parable of the Bags of Gold 14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’
21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

Missionary Jack Shiflett was speaking to one of his supporting churches. Having spent 11 years in Spain, Shiflett talked about the frustrations of presenting Jesus to people who domt think they need the gospel.
in the past couple of years, though, Jack and his wife Cheryl have seen their ministry begin to bear fruit. at least 17 people have accepted Jesus as their Saviour. yet that was after many years with few results. to emphasize his appreciation for the faithfulness of this church. Shiflett said," After 8 years, we came to you and repirted that we had led one person to Jesus Christ. And you sent us back."
1Te people at the church had recognised that the hallmark of servamthood is faithfulness, not results. Results, they knew, rested in God's hands through the work of the Holy Spirit.
1te shifletts were faithful to the task and arr now seeing the harvest. their example is encouraging, for wr often go without results for even longer periods of time. and the 3xampke of the church in sticking with them is vital.
16Perhaps you've been faithful at a task for a Ling time- seemingly without results. Stick with it, and leave the results with God. He'll send the rewards....
17god is more concerned with reliability than results.
